So, I've put together a playlist of old songs and demos. Have a listen. There are some liner notes below for the old music playlist. The demos are rough and short and sloppy and there aren't any notes for them yet.
Click below to launch the player(s). You can browse on and leave it up as long as you like. Also, don't forget, you can skip to the song of your choice using the list.
Cruciform - this is me and Kit around 1991. It's entirely keyboards and mostly the good old Korg Wavestation.
Crunchy - this is an idea I had around the year 2001. Loops and real guitar.
Cybercrunch - this is what Kit and I were doing in 1995. Initially this was all keyboards but we doubled the heavy guitar samples with real guitar.
Divinity - Kit had the music for this. I did all the drums. Thomas X sang on it. This musta been 1991 or 1992. This might wind up being a Huckleberry song one day. I was really proud of the tribal sounding drums in the breaks and at the end.
Tribunal - this was a torture tech. demo done by me and kit. It was always one of my favorite of our million incomplete ideas.
VC Promo 1 - ideas for Visible changes commercials by me and Kit done mostly on his Ensoniq sampler.
VC Promo 2 - ideas for Visible changes commercials by me and Kit done mostly on his Ensoniq sampler.
Duration - this was the original demo for the song that would up on the first Huckleberry CD.
Farzadfar - this is a song Afshin and I put together at Atch Records and Productions offa Fondren circa 1992. It was played before and after one of the largely infamous "Talent Quest" events.
Get Down - this pseudo- techno extravaganza was inspired by sample you hear over and over again. It came from some cop show where they had pulled some dude over. I don't think you ever get to hear the perp in the final cut of the song saying something like, "man I aint GOT to lay on the ground." Mostly done on Kit's ASR-10.
HD - this is all loops in Acid done around 2000 by me. It never even had a name.
It would be cool... - Me and Afshin. This little fun joke song is based on a Bad Company Sample and also one from Rush.
Kinescope - Me and Kit, mostly me for once. This song wound up in a video his dad made for a project at ACC.
Opus 1 - Four part harmony piece done for a class and later sequenced with some strings and bells.
Peter Pan - These are some chords I came up with on the Korg Wavestation. There are words but you'll never hear or see them. Needless to say, it's about growing up. Rather: not wanting to. Circa 1991.
Quarantine - Me and Kit, mostly Kit. In fact. I'm not sure what I did on this at all, maybe a little production/mixing.
Eros in d Minor - This is the Gathering. The band I was in around 90, 91. We played around town a little. This song was my Audio II project. We even made a video in which some girl no one even knew took her top off and walked around us with a snake. Yeah.
Trip - This was just a little goof-off I did with good old John Slivinski. He had the words from a long time ago and they kinda fit. It was mostly all done in one sitting so it's silly but I like it.
TV Woman - TV Woman is a song that Kit and I probably worked on for a whole year. I think there were two or three different versions. On this, the final one, we added a lot of stuff. The guitar feedback at the beginning is real. There are Ren and Stimpy samples in there too. I think there were some words at one point (other than kit saying "TV WOMAN" over and over but sadly, they never made it in.
